20 Gates; One Mountain

The clock is ticking. The wind is picking up. Your skis are pointing downhill. What could possibly go wrong?

Zigzag: Alpine Run is a bite-sized arcade skiing game with chunky 16-bit-inspired pixel art and a gloriously cheesy après-ski soundtrack. Carve between the flags, launch off broad snow ramps and keep your run alive by collecting time at each gate.

There is one mountain to master, twenty gates to thread and five jumps to tempt you into showing off. Trees, rocks and gate poles are considerably less forgiving than the scenery suggests.

Earn Your Turns

- Race the Clock: pass gates to gain time and build your score.

- Catch Some Air: take ramps at speed and land cleanly for bonus points.

- Read the Mountain: clear skies give way to snowfall, whiteout and a thawing sun break.

- Fight the Gusts: counter-steer through crosswinds, or brake to reduce the drift.

- Escape the Avalanche: react to the warning, keep clear of the snow bank and steer out before you are buried.

- One More Go: quick restarts make another attempt hard to resist.

How to Play

Keyboard: hold Left / Right or A / D to steer. Release to straighten. Hold Up / W to tuck and accelerate. Use Down / S / Space to brake. Press R for a quick restart and M to mute or unmute all sound.

Gamepad: use the left stick to steer. Push up or press A to accelerate; push down or press B to brake. On the result screen, A races again and B returns to the main menu.

Touch: turn your device to landscape and use Left, Right, Tuck and Brake. Menu and sound buttons can be tapped.

At the end of a run, choose Race Again or Main Menu. Keyboard players can use Enter and Escape respectively.

A Little Après-Ski

Enjoy Piste of Cake, an original, shamelessly cheerful chiptune with an accordion-like melody, oom-pah bass and a dance beat. Music starts after your first interaction. M or the on-screen sound button toggles music and effects, and your choice is remembered.

Play directly in your browser. Fullscreen is recommended.
